Internships:
The Academy College & Career Center (AC3) is designed to provide and support students in work-based learning opportunities. Internships are the primary form of work-based learning where students engage in an immersion experience. Students are responsible for securing their own internship opportunities to occur during the summer at the end of the junior year. Some students have encountered problems and obstacles in taking on this initiative and as a result the Academy Coordinator has established AC3 for the purpose of providing a resource. A pool of business partnerships have been established and students are assigned to internships based on need and interest. |
Field ExperiencesAcademy students have the unique opportunity to visit multiple sites throughout the school year on field experiences.
|
Guest SpeakersAcademy partnerships have afforded us the opportunity to invite guest speakers into the classrooms. They bring a wealth of expertise and experience to enhance the curriculum being taught.
|
Job ShadowingStudents have the opportunity to spend either 1/2 day or an entire day on a business site. The is an opportunity to observe professionalism in the field of interest first hand.
